Former Seattle Seahawks running back and NFL MVP Shaun Alexander has co-founded a Spokane-based investment company aimed at helping professional athletes build long-term wealth through real estate. The company, Athlete Real Estate Capital LLC, or ARC, was established in early 2026 alongside Ryan Towner and Dallas Lightner, co-owners of Spokane-based LT Real Estate LLC and LT Property Management LLC.

ARC partners with athletes for multifamily investments

The firm partners with current and retired NFL, NBA, and MLB players to purchase multifamily properties in Spokane County. The groups split both the investment and the revenue from the properties. Towner says the company fills a gap in the market because many professional athletes struggle financially after retirement.

“There’s definitely a need in the athlete world, and a lot of stats thrown out there that show the majority of NFL players go broke within a few years of retirement,” Towner says. “So we feel that we have the investment platform to help change that.”

ARC’s three co-founders currently serve as the company’s only employees. The group uses LT Real Estate and LT Property Management for support staff and property management needs, Lightner says.

The team completed its first multifamily complex investment with a partner athlete in April 2026. Deals with 15 more athletes are in the works, and over 100 athletes are expected to partner with the group in the near future. ARC’s co-founders decline to disclose the current and potential partner athletes.

Alexander isn’t based in Spokane, but he says the group’s focus on the local market gives them a competitive edge. Towner and Lightner explain that athletes from around the country invest in Spokane properties through ARC because they know the area.

“We know the area, so that for us is a competitive advantage in this space,” Lightner says.

First deal: River City Apartments

ARC and an athlete partner completed the purchase of a newly-constructed, 30-unit apartment complex at 2513 N. Regal in April 2026. The property, known as River City Apartments, is located north of the Spokane River and about a mile southeast of Gonzaga Preparatory School. The purchase was made through 2513 N Regal Apartments LLC, a company owned by both ARC and the athlete, for $5.95 million.

Towner and Lightner decline to disclose their partner athlete in the sale or what percentage of the complex the athlete owns. They also decline to disclose the company’s current revenue. ARC’s second multifamily investment is currently pending, Towner adds.

Guiding athletes through wealth management

The 2005 NFL MVP first met Towner while signing autographs at a Seahawks training camp at Eastern Washington University when Towner was 12 years old. Towner later attended several Fellowship of Christian Athletes Camps in North Carolina through Alexander’s youth mentoring nonprofit, the Shaun Alexander Family Foundation. The two remained in touch throughout Towner’s high school, college, and professional career.

Lightner adds that how much the athlete invests in the deal determines their monthly returns. ARC seeks out relevant real estate deals and assumes the most risk by investing the most capital into the sale, while athletes can choose to invest more or less capital into the deal.

LT Property Management manages the properties on behalf of ARC and the athlete, he says. Alexander contends that real estate is a smart investment for players looking to grow wealth.
